Clear Pipes are terrain that originated in Super Mario 3D World. They are only available in the Super Mario 3D World Game Style.
Behavior[]
Clear Pipes can have their length and shape modified in the editor.
Players can enter Clear Pipes by tilting in the direction of the Clear Pipe's opening. Most enemies that collide with walls can also enter Clear Pipes (exceptions include Thwomps, Boom Boom, Koopa Troopa Cars, Bullies, and Pokeys with more than 2 segments). Thrown Gizmos and certain projectiles also can enter them.
When a player or Course Part leaves a Clear Pipe but does not have enough room, it turns around and goes backwards, unless there is another Clear Pipe at the exit, which causes it to enter that Clear Pipe. If a player has returned back to the initial point of entry but still doesn't have room, the player will lose a life.
Players and Course Parts in Clear Pipes will pass through water and lava unaffected.
Appearance[]
Trivia[]
- When Clear Pipes are glitched into the Classic Game Styles, they are partially visible.
- In the Super Mario World Game Style's Forest Course Theme (Day & Night), horizontal Clear Pipes also have unique sprites.
- As of ver. 2.0.0, in all Game Styles, the down-right turn displays Frozen Coin sprites.
